ACSS and ACSS/AW conductors are utilized for overhead distribution and transmission lines, designed for continuous operation at temperatures up to 250°C without strength loss. These conductors offer reduced sag under emergency electrical loads compared to ACSR/AW, are self-damping when prestretched, and their final sag is unaffected by aluminum creep, making them ideal for reconductoring and new line applications.
